Miaoli Branch, National Taxation Bureau of the Central Area, Ministry of Finance announced that the 2023 foreign individual income tax filing period will be from May 1, 2024 to May 31, 2024. Please be informed that the ARC No. used in the individual income tax return must be the same as the one kept by your bank/post office; otherwise, tax payment by credit card or tax refund through money transfer will fail.

The Branch explained that during the filing period, foreign taxpayers can download the E-filing program and file their individual income taxes online by logging the ARC Number provided by the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency. Foreign taxpayers shall update their bank/post office record with their new ARC No. To ensure your tax payment by credit card is completed, please input the same ARC No. as the one kept by your bank while filing online. Furthermore, foreign taxpayers accessing their refund by money transfer should fill in the the same ARC No. as the one kept by their banks to ensure a successful money transfer.

The Branch reminds foreign taxpayers that to protect your own interests and to facilitate your 2023 tax-filing, foreign taxpayers whose ARC No. is already changed to a new one must update their bank records after renewing their ARC No.
